Russian Studies
BA programme
Main fields of study
Russian philology, literature, history and social science.
Language(s) of instruction
Danish and Russian. The examinations have been conducted in both Russian and Danish.
Access requirements
The applicant with no proficiency in Russian must complete an introductory language course worth 30 ECTS.
Programme requirements
The study programme concentrates on developing the student’s communicative skills and giving him or her broad knowledge of Russian language, literature, culture and history and social science. After the 2nd year of study, students either specialize in philology (with language, literature and culture as the main focus) or social sciences (with focus on Russia´s political and socio-economic history and on the structure of modern Russian society).
The study programme consists of compulsory courses (worth 135 ECTS), electives (45 ECTS, outside the main field of study) and is concluded with a written project.
Professional status
The BA in Russian Studies gives access to further studies at MA level and qualifies for public sector jobs as well as for teaching and functions within the private sector.

Programme requirements
The MA programme concentrates on enhancing the student’s communicative skills and providing him or her with advanced knowledge of Russian language, literature, and culture. The study programme consists of a number of compulsory courses (a total of 120 ECTS) and is concluded with a thesis (worth 30 ECTS).
Professional status
The MA in Russian Studies qualifies the candidate for further studies (PhD level) and for independent work in the public sector, administrative positions as well as for teaching and functions in the private sector.
