Views of violence - Images as documentary, evidentiary and affective
Associate professor Nina Grønlykke Molleup receives Sapere Aude grant from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for her project Views of violence - Images as documentary, evidentiary and affective. The project will be hosted at the Center for Comparative Cultural Studies (CCCS) starting on 1 February.
The project investigates images of violence and takes a point of departure in a paradox surrounding these, namely that perpetrators of violence on the one hand often try to prevent others from filming while they at the same time film the violence themselves.
The project is carried out in collaboration with pioneering civil society organisations in the field: Bellingcat, Mnemonic, WITNESS, International Media Support (IMS) and Amnesty International's CrisisEvidence Lab.
