I do research on Christian Filipino migrants in Denmark with a special emphasis on how social class, gender and generation influence and inform religious choices. In the field of religion and migration, religious organisations are often understood as a key to integration into the receiving society, just as inter-ethnic conflicts within the religious environments are overlooked in the widely used notion of minority religions. Working through both the functionalist idea of religious organisations as a tool for integration and the religious minority labeling, my PhD project explores how we can understand social tension within Catholic and Pentecostal Filipino networks.
