Call for Papers: The Egyptological Conference in Copenhagen

Death and Aftermath in Ancient Egypt

The second student organized conference, The Egyptological Conference in Copenhagen will be held at the University of Copenhagen on May 10-12, 2016. The aim of this conference is to present and discuss recent developments and research in Egyptology concerning the subject of Death and Afterlife in Ancient Egypt.

We hereby invite and encourage all current postgraduate students and early career researchers to submit an abstract of maximum 300 words. The deadline for submitting an abstract for a proposed presentation is 1st of February 2016.

Practical information

Each presentation is assigned a maximum of 30 minutes including 10 minutes for Q&A. Please note that we will only be able to accept a limited number of papers, and authors will be notified whether their paper have been accepted for the conference by February 10th, 2016. To cover the theme Death and Afterlife in Ancient Egypt, we suggest that the presentations include some of the following areas: History, archaeology, art history, literature, philology, religion and architecture.

Please make sure to include the following information on your abstract page (not included in the 300 words): Your name and title, e-mail address, title of paper and affiliation. The submitted abstract must be in English and attached as a PDF.
