Food and Identity - Exhibition

If you want to know how to do stuffed dates, this is the place to look for it!

We are what we eat! Food plays an important role in defining identities, and it is not only the food that we eat but also the food that we do NOT eat, which contributes to identity formation.

The exhibition has been made by lecturers and students of Near Eastern Archaeology and will offer examples of feasting, cooking and eating from the ancient Near East. The exhibition will illustrate the role that food played historically in negotiating relations between different peoples and groups. It also includes som more recent examples of food as a means to build identities. We will focus on archaeological finds and ancient recipies, raching as far back as 15,000 year ago.

The exhibition has English and Danish text.
