The close collaboration between researchers of the Institute of Cross-cultural and Regional Studies, the Copenhagen University Library (KUB) of the Royal Danish Library, and members of the Rigsters 3D Scanning team in the private sector has led to highly productive interchange and applications of some of the most recent photogrammetric modelling, especially with applications to archaeology, cultural heritage and epigraphy. In this paper, we highlight some of the most recent collaborative efforts, focusing on a series of case-studies that are particular to ancient Maya civilization (ad 250–900), especially from archaeological sites in present-day Belize. The photographic documentation, processing and resultant modelling as well as some of the final drawings are presented, as are some of the historic finds that have been brought about by these collaborations.
