I am a PhD fellow in philosophy of psychiatry connected to the Mapping Perceptual Presence project, where my research focuses on aberrations and alterations of presence. I am in particular interested in the ambiguity of auditory-verbal hallucinations in schizophrenia, that is, their hypo- and hyperreality. I am also exploring other aberrant phenomena, such as visual hallucinations in delirium tremens, so-called felt-presence phenomena, and the borderlands surrounding so-called pseudohallucinations and real hallucinations.
Besides this particular research focus, I am preoccupied with phenomenological psychiatry, especially schizophrenia research and the oeuvres of Ludwig Binswanger and Wolfgang Blankenburg. Additionally, I also have an interest in issues in philosophy of psychiatry, such as the concept of mental disorder, concept creep, and aetiology.
