Lecture by Dr. Hans-Georg Gebel, Freie Universität Berlin.

The understanding of the unique LPPNB Transjordanian mega-site phenomenon (7500-7000 BCE) is to be reconsidered in the light of fresh evidence from the eastern steppes (kite economies, land use by water management, multi-directional incursions of cultural and technological elements) and Palestine (large FPPNB-PN sites).

Developments outside the Transjordanian mega-site corridor became reasons for their instability and collapse, cooperating with accelerating interior social and environmental problems for which adaptations were not found in time.
