Arab Resistance in the Diaspora Post-Arab Spring: Potentials, Limitations, and Future Prospects
Online lecture by Dr Sahar Khamis, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. The lecture is no. 3/9 in the fall 2021 online lecture series.
Ten years after the eruption of the Arab Spring uprisings, it is essential to revisit some of the most important social, political and mediated transformations, which took place in this volatile region. One of the areas which are worthy of deep investigation and closer analysis is the role of self-exiled Arab activists and regime opponents in the diaspora. This presentation will shed light on the shifting potentials and limitations of this important phenomenon in an equally shifting region, and will also predict some of its prospects.
