Different Media Attitudes Towards the Post-2011-Sexual Violence in the Arab World

Jihan Mahmoud asks how Arab media respond to the region's ongoing changes, including revolutions, counter-revolutions, religious conflicts, (civil) wars, armed struggles, and the subsequent systematic gendered/sexual human violations, and violence. She explores explicitly how traditional and new forms of media have been utilized by different groups and with different aims to realize diverse political, social, religious and gendered/feminist agendas.

Students, researchers and the public are invited to join this workshop organized by the research project Mediatized Diaspora/Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies (University of Copenhagen).
