Migration & diaspora in Asia

In times where the number of international migrants is rising, “Asian Studies” is not limited to geographical borders but encompasses transnational flows and diasporic communities. The seminar will approach the issue of migration within and out of the region from different analytical and regional perspectives. It will help students grasp the relevance and applicability of different disciplinary approaches, as well as create synergy between the students in Asian Studies.

Talks by Kimiko Suda (TU Berlin), Jamie Coates (University of Sheffield) and Markus Bell (La Trobe University, Melbourne).
