Syria - Cultural Continuity from Antiquity to Present
Guest lecture with Dr. Filiz Çakır Phillip (Former Leading Curator, Aga Khan Museum, Toronto, Canada).
Syria is a country in the global spotlight, associated with conflict, mass migration of people seeking refuge, and most recently with devastating earthquakes. Dr. Çakır Phillip will tell the story of a resilient country, its diverse cultural richness and creative artists and artisans, who contributed to the extraordinary legacy of Syria's heritage. A cultural heritage, which has faced many dangers and destructions through the centuries, survived vagaries of time and rose again like a phoenix from the ashes.
The lecture is open for everybody and there is no need for registration.
