The Egyptological-Assyriological Conference in Copenhagen 2023

We are proud to welcome you to the first Egyptological-Assyriological Conference in Copenhagen! The conference was previously known as the Egyptological Conference in Copenhagen, an annual conference organised by students at the University of Copenhagen. As an attempt to strengthen the connections between the Egyptological, Assyriological and Archaeological disciplines across borders and academic levels, the Organizers decided to combine the fields within one conference.

The conference aims to create a safe space for young scholars to gain knowledge from experts, make acquaintances with people of the same interest, and practice and develop their presentation skills. The conference occurs from the 2nd to the 4th of May, and the program is thus divided so that all days will include both Egyptological and Assyriological presentations. This year the Keynote Speakers will present different topics within the theme of Rituals, However, while it has previously been a tradition that the abstracts have been within the same theme as the Keynotes, the organisers have this year chosen not to limit the Speakers. This has resulted in many exciting presentations, which we are proud to have received for the conference. Upon the high requests, this year's conference will be hybrid to include as many presentations and participation as possible. We want to thank everyone for their interest in the conference and wish everyone a pleasant three days.
