I am Visiting Professor in Egyptology at the University of Copenhagen for the academic year 2017-18.

Previously, I was Lady Wallis Budge Junior Research Fellow and Departmental Lecturer in Egyptology at the University of Oxford (University College and Faculty of Oriental Studies) and Theodor Heuss Research Fellow for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Heidelberg.

I studied in Italy, the USA, and the UK (DPhil Oxon 2015).

My main research interests lie in ancient Egyptian textual studies, specifically from the late New Kingdom to the Graeco-Roman and Late Antique Periods, including Demotic, Ptolemaic and Roman hieroglyphic texts, and Coptic.

I am active in the field as an epigrapher for the Oxford Expedition to Elkab and in Sudan (Jebel Dosha and Dal Cataract), both under the direction of Vivian Davies.

In Copenhagen, I teach and examine both language (Middle Egyptian, Late Egyptian, Demotic) and history/civilisation classes (Introduction to Ancient Egyptian Culture, Egyptian History, Egyptian Literature), at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
