I wrote my dissertation in Comparative Literature at New York University about Polish cinema and literature and my research has continued to concern the field of Polish history and culture. My first monograph, No End in Sight: Polish Cinema in the Late Socialist Period (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018), is about various kinds of play with endings in the films of Andrzej Wajda, Tadeusz Konwicki, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, and Wojciech Has. I am currently finishing a new monograph, Collecting Stories: Museums, Monuments and Memory in Poland, 1801-2019. Aside from these two projects I have an interest in the formerly secret police files in Poland and I have published a series of articles on that topic. I come to the University of Copenhagen after having taught Slavic and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California since 2012.
