Religionernes genkomst på den politiske dagsorden

There where among the first social scientists a general consensus, which declared that religion where no longer important. Religion like nationalism where exceeded by the parameter ‘social class’ as the only source for construction of identity. The secularization theory would prove, that religion slowly where declining in public life. At the beginning of the 21st century the world look much different. Religion still plays a powerfully role in the construction of ethnic and national identity – a process who is reinforces by various globalization trends. The article shows the secularization thesis validity in Denmark but at the same time points out various globalization trends influencing the secularization thesis, the Danish church-state relationship and the religious landscape which transform the relationship between politic and religion in Denmark.
