I graduated from her BA (Hons) in Human, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge in 2018, specialising in Social Anthropology. With my growing interest in Buddhism, ritual and politics, I centred my MRes in Anthropology at UCL (2020) on Plum Village, an international Mahayana Buddhist tradition founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
Adapting my intended fieldwork during the UK national lockdown, I undertook qualitative digital fieldwork. I explored how meditation and mindfulness are mechanisms for Plum Village to proliferate worldwide, transforming conceptualisations of the body and person, while remaining rooted in the specificity of practitioner’s lives.
