Fighting the Far Right in South Korea

Talk by Hannes Mosler, chair of East Asian Social Sciences with a focus on Korean politics and society, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.

This talk examines the continued influence of far-right forces in contemporary South Korean politics, highlighted by recent developments surrounding Yoon Suk-yeol and the People Power Party. It argues that these dynamics are not isolated, but the result of a long-term evolution of far-right networks that have mobilized support through grassroots activism, conspiracy narratives, mass protests, and digital media.
