Author Meets Critics section on Andreas Bandak’s recent book Exemplary Life

This past week the new issue of Religion and Society was published. As always it is packed with insightful interventions, original articles, thematic sections, and debate sections.

One of the sections is an Author Meets Critics section on Andreas Bandak’s recent book Exemplary Life: Modelling Sainthood in Christian Syria. Here outstanding scholars such as Maya Mayblin, Joel Robbins, Amira Mittermaier and Bjørn Thomassen engage with the book, and Andreas is offered a chance to give his response to their brilliant readings.

If you are interested in an anthropological conversation on exemplarity and social theory; on a discussion on sainthood and Catholicism; on how to engage with miracles in religious studies; and on an ethnography on a Syria before 2011, then a link follows below - and better yet it is open access.
